Songs for Feb 24th

Hey guys! One more week till Emerge has talent!! Going to be an exciting time to say the least! It was great giving you guys a week off last week and have The Anthem come in and lead us in worship! Hopefully you are all well rested up and ready to get back on stage.

You guys are all doing a great job, but lets not forget to practice. Even if it is a song we have played a thousand times, there are always way to make it better. This doesn't always mean adding really hard parts, crazy vocal melodies, or face-melting solos. A lot of times, this is just cleaning up a part we always mess up (I know I still have a TON!), maybe adding a different harmony, or just focusing on what the song means. Remember, God isn't pleased or impressed by an amazing show or hitting a really high note or blowing someone's mind with a mean solo.

True worship is when we focus on God. We honor him by using the talents he gave us to bring glory to his name. When our heart is right, the worship we bring will move God's heart.

In short: CHECK YOUR MOTIVES!!!

Are you doing this because you like to sing, because you want to look cool and be on stage, because you want people to notice how good you are, because you wanna impress all the ladies (or guys) with your sweet melodies.......

or are you doing this to bring glory to God, to honor him, to cry out to him,

to worship Him
